Heather Koldewey

Heather Koldewey has extensive experience in marine and freshwater conservation, currently serving as Senior Technical Advisor and Head of Marine and Freshwater at the Zoological Society of London since 1997. Notable roles include Section Head of Global Conservation Programmes and International Marine and Freshwater Programme Manager, along with contributions as an Aquarium Curator. In addition, Heather Koldewey holds the title of National Geographic Explorer and Fellow at the National Geographic Society since 2018 and serves as an Honorary Professor at the University of Exeter from 2015 onwards. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Fish Population Genetics from Swansea University and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography from the University of Plymouth.
