Katie Backus P.e.

Katie Backus P.E. has extensive experience in the gas industry, currently serving as Vice President of Gas Asset Management and Engineering at National Grid since October 2005. In this role, Katie is the business lead for the Gas Business Enablement program, overseeing significant project rollouts in New York City and Massachusetts while also addressing digital requirements for the future of the Gas Business. Previous titles at National Grid include Director of Gas Instrumentation and Regulation in New York, Director of Gas Asset and Engineering in New England, Director of Gas Engineering and Design in New York, and Director of Corrosion. Katie began their career as a Gas Engineer and has also held positions as Manager of Gas Engineering and Design, Gas Asset Engineer, and Manufacturing Engineer at the Roller Bearing Company. Katie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University and an MBA in Managing in the Global Economy from Excelsior University.
