Pete King

Pete King is a Senior Director and Head of Software Engineering for the UK at National Grid since February 2022. Previously, Pete served as Head of Software Engineering at NewDay from August 2020 to February 2022, and at Just Group plc from March 2017 to July 2020, where responsibilities included leading engineering efforts, establishing a high-performing DevSecOps team, and promoting Agile methodologies. Additionally, Pete was the Chief Technology Officer at Just's Digital Garage, focusing on creating customer-centric digital products. Earlier roles include Head of Software Engineering/CTO at Oakam Ltd and a Senior Software Engineering Consultant at Infusion, where Pete supported various clients in global banking and retail with software architecture and strategic direction. Pete’s career also encompasses multiple consultant positions at major financial institutions such as Barclays, Citi, and Credit Suisse. Educational background includes attendance at Pedare Christian College from 1995 to 1998.
