Brodie Mack Jr. has an extensive work history in various law enforcement and regulatory roles. Brodie started their career as a State Trooper for the New York State Police, where they worked in rural patrol and was later assigned to the New York State Thruway. In these roles, they were responsible for responding to complaints, conducting investigations, enforcing traffic laws, and ensuring the security of Thruway Authority facilities. During this time, they also became a drug recognition expert and instructor.

In 1998, Brodie joined the Criminal Investigation Division of the New York State Police as a Criminal Investigator. Brodie specialized in investigating felony crimes, with expertise in auto fraud, commercial vehicle theft, and other motor vehicle crimes. Additionally, they developed and delivered training on the identification of commercial vehicles.

In 2004, Brodie transitioned to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) as a Special Agent, where they investigated motor carriers for violations of safety and commercial regulations. Brodie focused on cases involving consumer fraud by household goods moving companies and conducted audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations. Over the years, they held various roles within the FMCSA, including Team Leader of the Commercial Enforcement and Investigations Division and Safety Operations Program Manager at the Eastern Service Center.

In 2020, Brodie joined the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) as a Division Chief. In this role, they lead a multidisciplinary team that regulates the importation of motor vehicles and automotive equipment for compliance with federal safety statutes and regulations. Their responsibilities include overseeing registered importers, processing conformity documents, and collaborating with Customs and Border Protection.

Throughout their career, Brodie has demonstrated expertise in law enforcement, investigations, regulatory compliance, and training.

Brodie Mack Jr. has a diverse education history. Brodie began their postgraduate coursework at Morgan State University from 2019 to 2021, focusing on ground transportation. Prior to that, in 2014, they took postgraduate coursework at George Mason University's Schar School of Policy and Government, specializing in transportation policy and planning.

In terms of undergraduate education, Brodie earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Criminal Justice from Pace University's Pleasantville/Briarcliff Campus, completing their studies from 2002 to 2006. Before their university studies, from 1977 to 1980, they obtained an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Liberal Arts from New York University. Furthermore, Brodie received their high school diploma from Fordham Preparatory School in 1977.

Alongside their formal education, Brodie Mack Jr. has obtained additional certifications. In May 2015, they became a Notary Public in the State of Maryland, and in October 2014, they acquired the certification of Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) from the Federal Acquisition Institute.
