David J. Bell

David J. Bell currently serves as the Director of the Office of Governmental, Policy, and Strategic Planning at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) since February 2025. Prior experience includes serving as the Director for American Truck Dealers at the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) from February 2020 to February 2025, and as the Director of Government Relations at the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) from January 2018 to February 2020. David J. Bell has a robust background in advocacy and policy, having previously worked at the Portland Cement Association and Prime Advocacy, where responsibilities included planning advocacy campaigns and conducting public policy research. Other roles include interim staffer positions for two U.S. Congress members and a research internship at the George Washington Regulatory Studies Center. David J. Bell holds a BA in Criminal Justice and Political Science from Rutgers University.
