Ashley McDonald

Ashley McDonald has extensive work experience in public information and communication roles. From 2007 to 2019, they served as a Public Information Officer for the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department. Ashley then joined the Rutherford County Government as a Public Information Officer/Programs Coordinator from 2019 to 2022. During this time, they also worked as a Les Mills™️ Body Pump Instructor at Gold's Gym. In 2019, they became the President of the National Information Officers Association, where they served until 2021 when they became the Past President. In 2022, they joined FLEETCOR as a Public Relations Communications Manager. Additionally, they are currently serving as a Commissioner- Commission on Professional Credentialing/PIO Representative at the Center for Public Safety Excellence.

Ashley McDonald, MPIO, CPC-PIO, holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) which was completed from 2003 to 2005. Ashley also attended Motlow State Community College from 2001 to 2003, earning an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in General Studies. Ashley has pursued additional education in the field of Public Information, obtaining a Master PIO certification from FBI-LEEDA in 2020, and a Master Public Information Officer certification from the Emergency Management Institute in 2019.
