Tara Warner

Tara Warner has extensive work experience in accounting and financial management. Tara currently serves as an Accounting Officer/Division Director at the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture, where they oversee the Financial Management Division. Prior to this, they worked as a Supervisory Staff Accountant/Branch Chief at the USDA NIFA, managing the Accounting Operations Branch. Tara also has experience in the U.S. Coast Guard, where they held various roles such as Supervisory Systems Accountant/Section Chief and Supervisory Accountant/Section Chief. Tara has also worked at MACFADDEN as a Senior Accountant, Amerigroup Corporation as a Provider Reimbursement Accountant, Robert Half International as an Accounting & Finance Consultant, The New York Times as an Accountant II, Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a Senior Accountant, Zukerman & Associates, LTD. as a Staff Accountant, and US Joint Forces Command as a Budget Clerk. Despite their diverse experience, Tara has consistently demonstrated their expertise in financial management and accounting.

Tara Warner has an extensive education history. Tara started their educational journey at Manor High School, where they obtained a diploma with a field of study in Advanced Studies from 1990 to 1994. Following high school, Tara attended Tidewater Community College from 1995 to 2001, earning an Associate of Science degree in Business Administration.

In 1994, Tara briefly attended Hampton University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering for a year. However, they did not complete the program. In 2001, Tara enrolled in Strome College of Business and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting in 2002.

To further enhance their knowledge and skills, Tara pursued a Master of Science degree in Accounting at Liberty University from 2008 to 2010. Later on, they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Theology/Theological Studies from Faith Evangelical College & Seminary between 2013 and 2015.

Continuing their academic journey, Tara enrolled at Liberty University again in 2022 and is expected to complete a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organization & Management - Leadership Cognate in 2026.

Tara has also obtained several certifications throughout their career. In March 2011, they became a Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) from the AGA. Additionally, in March 2022, they were recognized as a Ph.D. student in Organization & Management - Leadership from Liberty University. Furthermore, in February 2023, Tara completed the LEAD21 Cohort 18 program offered by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU).
