Deepak Kumar

Deepak Kumar, Ph.D., is a Scientist specializing in deep sea technologies and deep sea mining machinery at the National Institute of Ocean Technology since September 2022. Prior to this role, Deepak Kumar completed a PhD in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer from NIT-Rourkela while serving as a Teaching Assistant for various advanced fluid dynamics courses from August 2016 to August 2022. Earlier academic experience includes positions as an Assistant Professor at RVS College of Engineering and Technology and as a Teaching Assistant at University Polytechnic, BIT, Mesra, where foundational courses in fluid mechanics and practical lab demonstrations were conducted. Deepak Kumar began the career with a summer internship at the National Institute of Science and Technology, focusing on non-Newtonian nano-fluids, after earning a Master of Engineering in Heat Power Engineering and a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering.
