Colleen Egan is a legal professional with extensive experience in technology transfer and intellectual property law. Currently serving as General Attorney and Senior Counsel for Technology Transfer & Intellectual Property at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) since November 2021, Colleen provides legal services concerning technology transfer, human subjects research, international agreements, and artificial intelligence. Prior to this role, Colleen worked as a Contracts Associate at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures, where technology transfer agreements were negotiated and drafted on behalf of faculty, and provided guidance on intellectual property matters. Colleen's legal career began with an Associate Attorney position at Lexero Law, focusing on copyright and trademark issues. Additional experience includes roles as a Contract Attorney and a Summer Legal Intern, which provided exposure to felony litigation and transportation law. Colleen holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington.
