Previously, Prakhar held the position of General Counsel at Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Limited from April 2023 to October 2024, where Prakhar oversaw asset management totaling approximately USD 18 billion across various asset classes. Prior to that, Prakhar was Senior Executive Vice President at Kotak Mahindra Bank from September 2018 to March 2023, leading the closure of private equity deals exceeding USD 1.25 billion. Prakhar also served as Head of Strategy and Legal at Essar Investments Limited from October 2010 to August 2018, where responsibilities included managing cross-border M&A and dispute resolution. Earlier in Prakhar's career, experience as a Strategy and Legal Professional for TATA Group involved key contributions to mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. Prakhar holds an LLB from the University of Rajasthan, a Company Secretary qualification from The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, and a Chartered Accountant designation from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

NIIF Strategic Opportunities Fund is a Private Equity fund which aims to build scalable businesses across a range of opportunity long but capital short sectors. The India-Japan Fund (IJF) is NIIF’s first bilateral fund and invests in environment preservation in India.
