David Gregory

David Gregory is a Senior Scientist and Research Professor at the National Museum of Denmark, where responsibilities have included significant contributions to the fields of archaeological science and conservation since October 2003. Research interests encompass the formation processes of archaeological sites in both marine and terrestrial environments, submerged prehistoric archaeology, and the preservation of waterlogged archaeological wood, alongside advanced methods in remote sensing for site assessment. Notable achievements include coordination of an EU project dedicated to the preservation and stabilization of underwater cultural heritage. Prior to this role, David Gregory served as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Researcher at the Centre for Maritime Archaeology from October 1996 to September 2003, focusing on the preservation feasibility of the Nydam Mose site. Educational accomplishments include a PhD in Archaeological Science from the University of Leicester, an M.Phil. in Maritime Studies from the University of St Andrews, and a BSc (Hons) in Archaeological Science.
