Andrew McDowell is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in visitor engagement, interpretation, and audience development within the heritage and cultural sectors. Currently serving as the Design and Interpretation Manager at National Museums Northern Ireland since May 2018, Andrew previously held roles such as Visitor Experience Consultant at National Trust and Engagement and Audience Development Manager at Historic Royal Palaces. Andrew's expertise includes developing audiences, managing public consultations, and securing funding for transformative projects. With a background in interpretive planning at Tandem Design and research roles at Larne Borough Council, Andrew also has a strong foundation in policy advocacy gained from positions at Oxfam Ireland and Christian Aid. Andrew holds a BA (Hons) in Modern History and Politics from the University of Oxford.
