Emily Markowitz is a Research Fisheries Biologist at NOAA since February 2019, where responsibilities include conducting Alaska Bottom Trawl Surveys, supporting research trawls, and developing statistical models for groundfish abundance in Alaska. Previously, as an Environmental Policy Analyst through ECS Federal, Inc., Emily managed the Fisheries Economics of the US Report production. Emily also served as the 2018 John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellow at New York Sea Grant and worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Stony Brook University, where Emily completed both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Marine Sciences. Emily also participated in a study abroad program at the University of Otago focused on Marine Sciences.
