Kennard "Chip" Kasper is an experienced meteorologist currently serving as Team Lead for the NOAA Southeast and Caribbean Regional Collaboration Team since June 2022. With a career at NOAA spanning over 25 years, Kennard has held the position of Meteorologist-in-Charge, overseeing weather warning and forecast services for the Florida Keys and adjacent coastal waters, and has led marine weather initiatives in collaboration with various agencies to safeguard the maritime community. Kennard's expertise includes leading the implementation of the "Interactive Forecast Preparation System" at WFO Key West and providing specialized training to operational meteorologists. Prior roles include senior forecaster and data quality analyst, complemented by early experience as a co-owner/operator in the food industry. Kennard holds a B.S. in Meteorology from Florida State University and an Associate of Arts from St. Petersburg College.
