Russ Green possesses extensive experience in marine archaeology and management, currently serving as the Superintendent of the Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary at NOAA since April 2004. In addition to this role, Russ Green has held positions such as Great Lakes Regional Coordinator, Acting Superintendent of the Monitor National Marine Sanctuary, and Deputy Superintendent and Research Coordinator at Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Prior to joining NOAA, Russ Green worked as a Maritime Archaeologist for the Wisconsin Historical Society from May 2001 to April 2004 and has a background in coaching football at both Trinity College-Hartford and Brown University, along with experience as a commercial fisherman. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Maritime Studies with a focus on Marine Archaeology from East Carolina University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island.
