Jon Blower is an accomplished professional in ocean informatics and environmental analytics, currently serving as the Associate Director of Digital Ocean and Head of Ocean Informatics at the National Oceanography Centre since June 2022. Prior to this role, Jon held the position of Chief Technology Officer at The Institute for Environmental Analytics from October 2014 to June 2022. From November 2003 to October 2014, Jon was the Technical Director at the University of Reading's Reading e-Science Centre. Additionally, Jon had a secondment as the Manager of the Visualisation and Applications Centre at the International Space Innovation Centre from May 2011 to March 2013 and worked as an Analyst Programmer at Tessella from March 2001 to January 2003. Educationally, Jon earned an MA in Natural Sciences with a focus on Geological Sciences from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Volcanology from the University of Bristol.
