David Boot Chart.PR, MCIPR has a diverse and extensive work experience in public affairs and communications. David currently holds the position of Head of Public Affairs at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), where they lead a team responsible for consultation responses, stakeholder relations, and strategic advice. David also plays a leadership role within the Engagement directorate at NOC. Prior to this, David worked as the Public Affairs Lead at Gatwick Airport, managing relationships with ministers, MPs, and industry stakeholders. David also provided crisis management support and advised senior leaders at the airport. Before joining Gatwick, David served as the Public and Government Affairs Manager at National Highways, where they developed the corporate public affairs function and engaged with transport industry stakeholders. David also worked as the Public Affairs Manager (press & parliamentary) at NAHT - The union for school leaders, where they established the parliamentary engagement function and represented the organization in the School Cuts coalition. Additionally, David has experience working in public affairs and consultancy roles at Cicero/AMO and DeHavilland, where they led teams and provided strategic advice to clients in the UK political landscape. Throughout their career, David has demonstrated strong leadership skills, stakeholder engagement expertise, and a proven ability to develop and implement effective communications strategies.

David Boot Chart.PR, MCIPR completed their education at the University of Leeds, where they earned a Master of Arts degree in British Politics (parliamentary studies) from 2003 to 2004. Prior to that, they attended the University of Leicester and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from 2000 to 2003.

In addition to their academic qualifications, David has obtained several certifications. David became a Chartered Public Relations Practitioner through the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in January 2023. David also holds the accreditation of Accredited Public Relations Practitioner, obtained in July 2022 from the same institution.
