Brett Simpson

Lead Instructor at NATIONAL OUTDOOR LEADERSHIP SCHOOL

Brett Simpson has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Brett started their career as a Program Leader at Multnomah County Outdoor School in 1995. Brett then worked as a Forest Crew Leader for the USDA Forest Service from 1996 to 1999. In 2000, they became a Lead Instructor at Outward Bound. From 2001 to 2009, they served as an Associate Director and later as the Executive Director at Quest at Bloomsburg University, a Leadership Development program. In 2003, they took on the role of Lead Instructor at NOLS Wilderness Medicine. In 2010, they founded their own business, Brett Simpson Photography. Brett also worked as the Assistant Director of Photography at Bucknell University from 2016 to 2016. And finally, they started Simpson Project Solutions, LLC in 2017, where they are the owner. Throughout their career, they have also been involved in various consulting and education programs, such as Advance Knowledge Consulting and LEEP.

Brett Simpson earned an M.Ed degree in Education and Instructional Technology from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania in 2007-2008. Before that, they obtained a BA degree in Environmental Science, Leadership, and Outdoor Education from The Evergreen State College in 1998-2000. Brett also holds an AA degree in General studies from Mt. Hood Community College, which they completed in 1993-1997. Brett completed their high school education at Sam Barlow High School from 1989 to 1993. In terms of additional certifications, Brett possesses Wilderness First Responder certification from NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI).
