Daren Opeka

Daren Opeka is an accomplished registered nurse currently serving at Southern Arizona VA Health Care System since November 2018. With a Master of Science in Registered Nursing obtained from the MEPN program in August 2018, Daren combines clinical experience with wilderness medicine expertise, serving as an instructor for NOLS Wilderness Medicine since November 2014. Previous roles include Assistant Brewer at Sentinel Peak Brewing Company and Program Supervisor/Field Instructor at NOLS from 2006 to 2015, where Daren taught leadership and risk management. Additionally, Daren volunteered over 150 hours annually as a Volunteer Emergency Medical Technician and High-Angle team leader with Fremont Country Search and Rescue from 2010 to 2014. Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from DePauw University.
