Lauren Van Fleet is an experienced professional in environmental education and outreach, currently serving as the Education and Outreach Intern for the National Park Service at Cades Cove since August 2018. Previous roles include a Canoe Instructor at Ijams Nature Center, where programming and curriculum were developed, and a Teaching Assistant at Blount County Schools. Experience as a Substitute Teacher, Outdoor Science Instructor at OMSI, and an intern with the National Park Service at Lava Beds National Monument has further enhanced skills in visitor services and environmental education. Lauren holds a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Geoscience from DePauw University, complemented by a semester abroad at the University of Canterbury, focusing on Geology/Earth Science.
