Robert Baker

National Data Scientist/integrative Biologist

Robert Baker is an experienced ecologist and data scientist currently employed by the National Park Service as an Ecologist/Data Scientist since December 2021. Prior to this role, Baker served as an Assistant Professor at Miami University from 2017 to January 2022 and held various postdoctoral positions, including NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Wyoming, focusing on genome-wide associations and agro-ecological gene functions. Baker's academic journey began with a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado and a BA in Biology from Reed College. Throughout a diverse career, Baker has contributed to research on plant evolution, gene networks, and molecular phylogeography across multiple esteemed institutions.
