Scott Thompson-Buchanan

Branch Chief of Cartography, Mapping and Boundary Management at National Park Service

Scott Thompson-Buchanan has extensive experience in cartography and geographic information systems, currently serving as the Branch Chief of Cartography, Mapping, and Boundary Management and Boundary Program Manager at the National Park Service since March 2010. In this role, Scott assists national parks with boundary management issues. Prior to this position, Scott worked as a Cartographer providing support to the Intermountain Region Lands Program. Scott began a career in GIS as a Senior GIS Analyst with the City of Colorado Springs from June 1995 to March 2010. Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography and Communications from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs between 1993 and 1995.
