Kelly Burton

Associate Director For Advancement Communications at National Parks Conservation Association

Kelly Burton has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Most recently, they worked at the National Parks Conservation Association as the Associate Director for Advancement Communications. In this role, they were responsible for creating messaging, managing the production of annual reports, and creating marketing materials. Prior to this, Kelly worked as the Communications Manager and Senior Coordinator at NPCA, where they wrote donor-focused materials, assisted with grant proposals, and provided support to the foundation relations team. Outside of NPCA, Kelly also worked as a Freelance Writer and gained experience in legislative affairs, issue campaigns, crisis management, and media relations at Hill+Knowlton Strategies. Kelly also had internship experience in communications, marketing, and writing roles at the Florida Department of Children and Families, Wesley Foundation at FSU & TCC, Uloop Student News Network FSU, and Travel Channel International.

Kelly Burton earned a Master's degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Florida State University, specializing in Editing, Writing, and Media. Kelly's education journey began at St. Thomas Aquinas High School, where they completed their secondary education.
