Rina Penkar

Ms. Rina Penkar is the Head of international business for product development, responsible for initiatives that drive NPCI’s growth in global markets. She is a purpose-driven product and business leader with over two decades of experience building strong teams that offer the best functional expertise combined with deep knowledge of digital payments. She has been with NPCI since formation and is instrumental in designing, developing and delivering NPCI’s international product strategy and roadmap and driving growth across NPCI’s portfolio of products. She has successfully established strategic cross-border alliances in partnerships with Discover Financial Services, JCB International and UnionPay International.

She began her career with Citigroup Inc, where she advised Citigold retail clients around investment portfolios and financial management. Prior to joining NPCI, she was associated with HDFC Bank for 11 years. In her role, she was responsible for strategic operational planning for direct banking payment channels, mobile emerging payments, digital banking and cross border payments.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics with Honors from Mumbai University and has post graduated in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations.
