Maricarmen Smith-Martinez is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in international development and strategic growth. Currently serving as Senior Director of Strategic Growth & Partnerships at Bixal since November 2013, Maricarmen focuses on building industry relationships to enhance new business opportunities. Previously, in the role of Senior Director of Global Operations, Maricarmen led initiatives to support Bixal’s international programs across Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean. Engagement with the National Peace Corps Association includes positions such as Board Chair of the Governance Committee, promoting Peace Corps ideals. Maricarmen’s career also features roles at CredAbility, The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, the Peace Corps, and others. Academically, Maricarmen holds an Executive Master of Arts in Global Affairs and Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish from Emory University.
