Nicholas Cohen

Contrabassoonist at National Philharmonic

Nicholas Cohen is an experienced arts advocate and musician, currently serving as the Executive Director of Maryland Citizens for the Arts since March 2017, where the focus is on expanding public investment in the nonprofit arts sector. In addition, Nicholas has played the contrabassoon with the National Philharmonic since January 2009 and previously held the role of Director of Engagement and Education Programs with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra from June 2012 to March 2017. Nicholas also contributed to arts education as the Associate Director for College Park Scholars in the Arts at the University of Maryland from 2009 to 2012. Nicholas holds a Master’s Degree in Music Performance from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Florida.
