Andrea Briones

Andrea Briones is a Senior Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) since July 2017, specializing in SI-traceable chemical measurements for biological research. Briones has led the development and publication of the first SI-traceable reference material by the Biometrology group. Additional roles at NPL include serving as a Biological Safety Adviser and Higher Research Scientist, focusing on the use of biological agents and antimicrobial peptides, respectively. Andrea Briones also held a visiting scientist position at the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (BIPM) to develop peptide assignment methods and has previous experience as a visiting marker at Royal Holloway, University of London, and in R&D at P&G. Academically, Andrea Briones holds a PhD and MSc in Biochemistry and Biological Sciences Research from Royal Holloway, University of London, alongside a BSc(Hons) in Biochemistry.
