Nathaniel J. Huáng

Nathaniel J. Huáng is a Senior Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) since April 2021, where Nathaniel leads research in Quantum Light and Matter within the Department of Quantum Technologies & Quantum Metrology Institute. Nathaniel is actively involved in standardization efforts as a Committee Member at the British Standards Institution, International Electrotechnical Commission, and the International Organization for Standardization, focusing on quantum technologies and nanotechnologies. Nathaniel also serves as a Long-Term Academic Visitor at the University of Oxford, conducting research in quantum physics and nanostructured materials. Previous roles include Higher Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Research Assistant at NPL and the University of Oxford, respectively, along with academic credentials that include a DPhil in Condensed Matter Physics from the University of Oxford and a BSc in Engineering Physics from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
