Michael Freedman is an accomplished journalism professional with extensive experience in academia and media management. Since January 2012, Freedman has served as Senior Vice President and Journalist in Residence at the University of Maryland Global Campus. Freedman has held the role of President at The National Press Club since January 2020, after being elected in December 2015. At George Washington University, Freedman works as a Professorial Lecturer in Journalism and has been the Executive Producer for The Kalb Report since 1994, a public broadcasting series on journalism. Additionally, Freedman was General Manager of CBS Radio Network News from 1998 to 2000. Freedman earned a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Communications from Wayne State University.
