Jarrad Wright

Jarrad Wright is a seasoned professional in energy system research and engineering with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as a Senior Researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory since January 2022, Jarrad previously held the position of Principal Engineer in Grid Planning at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) from December 2015 to August 2021, focusing on energy efficiency, renewables, and policy-making. Additionally, Jarrad contributed as a Commissioner at the National Planning Commission of South Africa from September 2015 to March 2021. Other notable positions include Regional Manager at Energy Exemplar and Senior Power Systems Engineer at Parsons Brinckerhoff Africa (Pty) Ltd. Jarrad holds a PhD in Engineering along with an MScEng and BScEng, all from the University of the Witwatersrand.
