Remi Akinwonmi

Remi Akinwonmi is a postgraduate researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory since February 2024. Previously, Remi completed a summer internship at RMI in June 2023, focusing on technological solutions to reduce generator interconnection timelines in U.S. energy markets. Prior experience includes working as a facilities officer at Sahara Group and as a solar minigrid engineer at Nayo Tropical Technology Limited. Earlier in career development, Remi served as an engineering intern at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in 2016. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, expected in May 2024, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, earned in 2018.
