Denis Derkach

Director Of Applied Research - AI Institute at National Research University - Higher School of Economics

Denis Derkach has accumulated extensive experience in the field of research and academia over the years. Starting as a Guest Scientist at DESY in 2007, they then worked as an Engineer at Saint-Petersburg State University from 2006 to 2007. Subsequently, they held a position as an International Fellow at INFN from 2011 to 2013. Moving on, Denis became a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Oxford from 2013 to 2015. Denis then joined Yandex as a Researcher, engaging in various responsibilities until 2017. Since 2015, Denis has been associated with the National Research University – Higher School of Economics, where they have taken on roles such as Assistant Professor, Head of Laboratory, and currently serves as the Director of applied research at the AI institute. Denis'swork includes student supervision, scientific research, and participation in various scientific committees and working groups within the field of computer science.

Denis Derkach completed a Bachelor's Degree in Physics at Saint Petersburg State University in 2004, followed by a Master of Science in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at the same university in 2007. Denis then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in Elementary Particle Physics and Data Analysis at Paris-Sud University (Paris XI) from 2007 to 2010. Later, they obtained a Diploma for Graduates in Management from the University of London in 2015.
