Hal Lawton

Hal Lawton is the current President and CEO of Tractor Supply Company at National Retail Federation. Prior to this, they served as the Senior Vice President of eBay, responsible for the Americas business unit. Hal has also served on the Board of Directors for Buffalo Wild Wings and was responsible for the company's sale to Arby's Restaurant Inc (of Roarke Capital Group) in February 2018. From September 2017 to December 2019, Lawton was the President of Macy's, responsible for all aspects of the Macy's brand. Hal has also spent 10 years at The Home Depot across a variety of roles, including SVP of Merchandising Hardlines, President/SVP of Online, VP of Merchandising Finance, and Director of Strategic Business Development. Before their time at The Home Depot, Lawton was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company from August 2000 to February 2005.

Hal Lawton received their MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. Prior to that, they received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering and Pulp and Paper Science and Technology from North Carolina State University. Hal also attended Sullivan South High School.
