M. Scott Vinson

M. Scott Vinson, CAE, is a seasoned professional in government relations and public policy, currently serving as Vice President of Government Relations, Food & Energy Policy at the National Retail Federation since October 2017. Vinson's extensive career spans various leadership roles, including Vice President at the National Council of Chain Restaurants from April 2007 to present, where responsibilities encompass directing legislative, regulatory, and legal advocacy, as well as managing internal communications and building coalitions with key stakeholders. Previous positions include Interim President of the National Council of Chain Restaurants, Senior Director of Government Relations, and Associate Manager of Labor Policy at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Vinson holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law and a BBA from Iowa State University, along with credentials from the American Society of Association Executives.
