Yaakov Goldberg

CTO - National Retail Solutions, a division of IDT at National Retail Solutions

Yaakov Goldberg has over 40 years of experience in the technology industry. Yaakov began their career in 1977 at Bell Labs as a MTS. After three years, they joined Charles River Data Systems, Inc. as VP Software R&D, where they created the software division and developed the UNOS (Unix Compatible) Operating System. In 1985, they founded Monarch Data Systems, Inc. and created products for the Atari line of personal computers. In 1996, they joined IDT/Net2Phone as CTO/Chief Scientist, where they built the Net2Phone technical organization from the ground up and helped Net2Phone grow to almost 700 people. Yaakov then joined Achieve3000 in 2010 as CTO, leading the team in creating its "next generation" architecture. In 2014, they returned to IDT as CTO of National Retail Solutions, a division of IDT Telecom. Yaakov is currently responsible for enabling small to mid-size neighborhood bodegas and grocery stores to compete with both online and brick and mortar retailers. Additionally, they are a Partner at Digimia LLC, where the partners are developing a SaaS mobile health care application and web service for tracking medical records and health history for individuals and families.

Yaakov Goldberg obtained their BS in Electrical Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art between 1970 and 1974. Yaakov then went on to receive their MS in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between 1974 and 1977.
