M.N.A. Fernando

M.N.A Fernando currently works as the Deputy GM of Human Resource Development at National Savings Bank. Prior to this, they worked as an accountant at Smith Foods from August 2014 to September 2016, and before that as a supervisor in the audit and assurance division at KPMG Sri Lanka from June 2011 to July 2014.

At KPMG, Fernando was responsible for carrying out assurance services to a variety of clients, including local subsidiaries of multinationals and companies operating in various industries such as finance, investment, import/export, retail and wholesale, and service organizations. This involved preparing and reviewing financial statements and consolidated financial statements, as well as preparing reports on audit findings to shareholders and management. Fernando was also responsible for guiding and reviewing the work of junior staff members, ensuring that all areas of the audit were competently completed within deadlines. In addition, Fernando liaised with client staff on matters relevant to the audit and resolved any issues that arose.

Fernando’s work history demonstrates their excellent accounting and auditing skills, as well as their ability to manage and mentor junior staff members. These skills have no doubt contributed to their success in their current role at National Savings Bank.

M.N.A Fernando has completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Cardiff Metropolitan University, with a focus in General Studies. M.N.A. is also an Associated Member of Charted Accountants from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, and has a B.sc in Management (Finance) from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Fernando began their educational career at Sri Sumangala Girls School in Panadura.

M.N.A. Fernando reports to M.P.A.W Peiris, GM & CEO. They are on a team with Christine S. Jesudian - Deputy GM, G.V.A.D. Devika Silva - Deputy GM, Treasury, and K D Jayatilake - Chief Legal Officer.
