Joe Redfield

Joe Redfield is an accomplished professional with extensive expertise in electrified transportation, energy management, and technical consulting. As the Principal and Owner of Redfield Consulting Services since March 2013, Joe provides strategic consulting and project management in energy efficiency and smart grid technologies. In addition, Joe serves as the Region 5 Membership Development Chair for IEEE, overseeing activities for 25,000 members in the Central US since 2011. Joe has been an influential figure in the National Space Society as Treasurer and a Board Member, managing significant financial oversight. Prior to these roles, Joe spent 30 years at Southwest Research Institute, advancing vehicle technology as a Principal Engineer and Manager, leading teams in developing innovative drivetrains and energy systems. Joe holds both a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

National Space Society

The National Space Society (NSS) is an independent, educational, grassroots, non-profit organization dedicated to the creation of a spacefaring civilization. Founded as the National Space Institute (1974) and L5 Society (1975), which merged to form NSS in 1987, NSS is widely acknowledged as the preeminent citizen's voice on space.
