Julie Schenck Brown (AL)

Director 2019-2022 at National Speleological Society

Julie Schenck Brown is the current Director of the National Speleological Society. Julie has a background in engineering and has worked as a geologist for Great Southern Engineering and CH2MHill. Julie has also served as a sub-contractor for the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center Semi-Annual Groundwater Sampling Event.

Julie Schenck Brown has a Masters of Science from Western Kentucky University in Karst Hydrology & Geomorphology. Julie also has a certification from the Association of State Floodplain Managers, Inc. (ASFPM) in Certified Floodplain Manager. Additionally, they are certified by OSHA in OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER, the American Concrete Institute in ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician, the Alabama Department of Transportation in ALDOT Concrete Technician, the International Code Council in Soils Special Inspector, and the Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation in TN Erosion Prevention & Sediment Control-Level I.
