Allison Severson

Allison Severson currently serves as the Director of the Hixson Opportunity Awards and National Student Exchange at Iowa State University, a position held since August 2016, while also functioning as Program Coordinator for the National Student Exchange. With a strong background in higher education, Allison has significantly increased program participation and staffing, leading a team that includes a full-time coordinator and student ambassadors. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant Director for the Hixson Opportunity Awards Program, focusing on the success of high financial need scholars, and Program Advisor, where Allison developed social and cultural programming for student retention. Educationally, Allison holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education from Iowa State University, earned between 2009 and 2011.
