Jim Scheffer

Jim Scheffer is the current Program Management Officer at National Transportation Safety Board. Prior to this, they worked for Sunoco Refining & Marketing for 24 years, where they served as Master, Deck Officer, and Marine Operations. Jim has been in the maritime industry for over 40 years and has vast experience in managing and overseeing operations. Jim is a highly skilled and respected leader who has dedicated their career to ensuring the safety of others.

Jim Scheffer's educational career includes a Master of Science in Maritime and Naval Studies from State University of New York Maritime College, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology & Oceanrogrophy from the same school.

Jim Scheffer reports to Morgan Turrell, Director, Office of Marine Safety. They are on a team with Liam Larue - Division Chief, Major Investigations Division, Eric Stolzenberg - Deputy Director.
