James Kenton is a Senior Building Surveyor at the National Trust since November 2019, overseeing buildings within the Kent portfolios, including Chartwell, Ightham Mote, and Sissinghurst Castle Garden, and previously managing buildings within the Bodiam, Bateman’s, and Monks House portfolios. Prior experience includes serving as an Associate at Clague Architects from May 2011 to November 2019, where management of the historic buildings team involved a variety of projects, as well as inspecting architect duties for the Church of England. James also worked as an Architect at Clague Architects, focusing on historic residential and ecclesiastical projects, and served as a Part 2 and Part 1 Architectural Assistant at Mervyn Gulvin architect and Clague Architects, respectively. James holds a Master of Architecture, a Postgraduate Diploma, and a BA (Hons) in Architecture, all from the University of Portsmouth.
