John Hawkins

Research Volunteer

John Hawkins has a diverse professional background with extensive experience in policy development, financial management, and education. Currently serving as a Research Volunteer at the National Trust since February 2022, John previously held roles including Business Services Co-ordinator and Business Support Co-ordinator at the National Trust, where responsibilities included financial security and purchasing operations. As a Trustee for Wargrave House School, John contributed to the strategic direction and financial oversight of a charitable organization focused on the education of children on the autistic spectrum. John's earlier career included significant positions with the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities, emphasizing governance, policy management, and financial oversight, as well as a role at St Helens Council focused on European grants and regional policy making. John holds a BA Hons in Human Geography from the University of Reading, a CIPFA qualification in Public Finance & Accountancy from Liverpool John Moores University, and a PGCE in Primary Education from Avery Hill College.
