Senior Communications Manager, Gulf Restoration Program

Emily Guidry Schatzel is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in strategic communication and public relations. Currently serving as the Senior Communications Manager for the Gulf Restoration Program at the National Wildlife Federation since September 2009, Emily develops and implements campaigns to promote policies for restoring the Gulf Coast and coastal Louisiana, while also leading the communications for the Walton Family Foundation-funded Restore the Mississippi River Delta coalition. Additionally, Emily holds the position of Chair of the Communications Committee for Restore the Mississippi River Delta and served as Senior Director at Beautycounter from April 2017 to April 2024. Previous roles include Communications Consultant at Vanguard, where communication strategies were developed to enhance retirement readiness, and Media Director at the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, directing media relations and branding efforts. Emily earned a JD and an MA in Communications from Loyola University New Orleans, alongside dual Bachelor's degrees in Mass Communication and English from Nicholls State University.
