Kelsey Grimes

Senior Counsel, Reproductive Rights & Health at National Women's Law Center

Kelsey (she/her) is Senior Counsel on the Reproductive Rights and Health team, where she leads state birth control work. Previously, Kelsey was on NWLC’s Child Care and Early Learning team and worked to ensure affordable, accessible child care for everyone and justice for child care workers.

She is a former If/When/How Federal Reproductive Justice Fellow and worked at Unite for Reproductive & Gender Equity, where she provided grassroots advocacy support to young people. Kelsey holds a law degree from Temple University and an undergraduate degree from Bryn Mawr College. During law school, she was a Research Assistant and focused on human rights and access to justice for low-income litigants. She participated in Temple Law’s Justice Lab, where she and two other students worked with the Youth Sentencing & Reentry Project and Philadelphia officials to end the City’s practice of charging parents for the cost of their child’s incarceration. More recently, Kelsey was a Legal Fellow at the National Family Planning & Reproductive Health Association, where she worked to make the organization’s litigation and policy developments more accessible for the organization’s health care provider members. Kelsey is a long-time abortion doula and loves connecting with and supporting people who need care.
