Betsy Carpenter

Betsy Carpenter is an experienced educator with a diverse background in teaching English at various academic institutions. Currently serving as a Teacher Consultant at the National Writing Project since July 2009 and an Assistant Professor at Otterbein University since 2024, Betsy has also taught at Highland High School from July 2015 to August 2023 and Instituto Irlandes from January 2013 to June 2014, where English was taught to native Spanish speakers. Additionally, Betsy served as a High School English Teacher at Northeastern High School from August 2005 to July 2012, specializing in Advanced Placement English Language and Composition. Betsy's dedication to education has been recognized with the Larry K. Zerkle Award for excellence in teaching. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in English Education from The Ohio State University, a Licensure Program in Instructional Media Specialist from Kent State University, and a B.S. in Education from Bowling Green State University.
