Tracy Gilbertson Dennis has worked in the archival and museum field since 2009. From 2009 to 2012, they held internships at Northwest Missouri State University, National Archives, and The Harry S Truman Presidential Library and Museum. At Northwest Missouri State University, they researched and created historical displays for the library and history department. At the National Archives, they created eleven finding aids for the online Archival Research Catalog, processed three cubic feet of the Leavenworth Penitentiary files, and transcribed Civil War enlistment records into a database. At The Harry S Truman Presidential Library and Museum, they inventoried objects from the Museum's collection using the IO computer database, worked with the Museum's curator to create the temporary exhibit Presidential Pitch: Harry Truman and Baseball, and provided preliminary research for a future exhibition. From 2013 to the present, they have worked at the National WWI Museum and Memorial in various roles. As the Digitization Program Manager & Assistant Registrar, they processed, catalogued, and performed data entry of archival collections, maintained order and arrangement of archival collections, and digitized collection materials. As the Learning Coordinator, they provided tours to K-12 school groups, assisted with the creation of digital exhibitions, and organized and scheduled school group visits. As the Administrative Coordinator, they organized and assisted with the Board of Trustee's Building & Grounds Committee meetings, was responsible for collecting, assembling, and distributing monthly reports, and assisted the Building and Grounds Department with invoicing and check requests. Finally, as the Guest Services Associate, they welcomed Museum visitors in a friendly manner, sold admission tickets and merchandise in the Museum Store, and answered questions in person and over the phone.
Tracy Gilbertson Dennis earned a Master of Arts (MA) in Museum Studies from The University of Kansas between 2011 and 2012. Before that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in History from Northwest Missouri State University between 2007 and 2010.
