Bert Gouw

Bert Gouw has extensive work experience in various roles related to fraud, security, and compliance. Bert started their career as a detective in the Rotterdam Police Fraud Squad from 1976 to 1988. Bert then joined ABN AMRO, where they held the position of Vice President in the Corporate Centre/Group Compliance/Legal/Security Department from 1989 to 2007. During their time at ABN AMRO, they were responsible for tasks related to integrity, security, compliance, and reputation protection.

After leaving ABN AMRO, Gouw joined Control Risks as an Associate Director of Corporate Investigations from 2007 to 2010. Bert managed the Investigative Services and Business Intelligence teams, handling fraud, corruption, money laundering, and compliance breaches. Bert also acted as a managing consultant, setting up the investigative services line of business and managing litigation support projects.

In 2010, Gouw worked as an Interim Manager at Bemago Consultancy before joining ING Bank as a Team Manager in the Security Department from 2011 to 2013. Bert then joined Nationale Nederlanden Bank, where they held the roles of Head of Fraud and Security and Head of the Fraud & Security Department from 2013 onwards.

Gouw also has experience with professional associations, serving as Vice President of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) - The Netherlands Chapter from 2009 to 2020. In 2015, they joined Nederlands Compliance Instituut as a Trainer.

Bert Gouw obtained a post-academic degree in civil law from Universiteit van Utrecht. Bert further pursued their education at Leiden University and obtained another post-doctoral degree in forensic accountancy and law. Additionally, Gouw attended Nyenrode Business University and completed a post-doctoral program in forensic accountancy. Bert also became a Certified Compliance Professional at The Netherlands Compliance Institute.
