Karen Guy

Frame Conservator at Nationalmuseum, Sweden

Karen Guy is an experienced Frame Conservator currently employed at Nationalmuseum in Sweden since November 2018. Prior to this role, Karen worked as a freelance Picture and Frame Conservator from June 2014 to October 2018, gaining experience in various conservational projects including work at Manley Restoration and Hirst Conservation. Other roles include internships at Studio Västsvensk Konservering and Royal Museums Greenwich, where Karen gained significant knowledge in painting and frame conservation. Previous experience as a Conservation Picture Framer at Just Good Frames and as Photo Librarian at Greenpeace International has further enriched Karen's expertise. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Conservation of Historic Objects from the University of Lincoln and City and Guilds Certificates in the Conservation of Painting and Frames from the London School of Painting and Frame Conservation.
