Laura Blum Meisnere has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Laura is currently employed as a Senior Director at the National Quality Forum (NQF) since November 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Chief External Relations Officer at the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) from February 2021 to July 2022.
From 2009 to 2020, Laura held multiple roles at the Heart Rhythm Society, including Vice President of Provider & Patient Advocacy and Vice President of Health Policy. During their tenure, they led various initiatives related to payment policies, value-based care, patient safety, emerging technology, and cybersecurity. Additionally, they oversaw the development of clinical performance measures and managed the organization's scientific and clinical documents development process.
Before joining the Heart Rhythm Society, Laura worked at the Joint Commission as an Associate Director of Federal Relations from 2004 to 2009. In this role, they served as a liaison with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and managed Medicare federal accreditation programs. Laura also directed internal workgroups, developed surveyor training, and created operational guidelines.
Laura's earlier experience includes roles at the National Quality Forum (NQF) as a Program Manager from 2001 to 2003, where they managed standard development consensus projects and focused on patient safety issues. Laura also worked at ASHP as an Associate in the Executive Office and Center for Patient Safety from 1999 to 2001. Prior to that, they served as a Research and Special Projects Manager at the National Patient Safety Foundation from 1997 to 1999.
Laura began their career as a Research Associate at the American Medical Association's Office of Women's Health and Minority Health from 1996 to 1997.
Laura Blum Meisnere has a Master of Arts - MA in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. Laura also completed a Graduate Program in Health Administration and Policy, earning a Certificate in Health Administration and Policy, from the same institution. Additionally, Laura Blum Meisnere holds a Bachelor of Arts - BA degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they studied History and Women's Studies.
