Gretchen McDonnell has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Gretchen began their career as an Environmental Health & Safety Manager at Unit Parts Corporation in 1998. Gretchen then worked as a Physical Scientist at ManTech in 1999 and an Environmental Specialist at the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality in the same year. After that, they became an Environmental Services Manager at Clayton Group Services from 2000 to 2002, followed by a role as a District Environmental Manager at Allied Waste from 2002 to 2004.

From 2005 to 2015, Gretchen worked at AECOM as a Project Manager and Geologist, and then they joined Terracon in 2015 as a Sr. Associate and Environmental Services Department Manager until 2017. Gretchen has recently held the position of VP and Managing Director in the Environmental/UXO Program at both Cayuse Holdings and Native Hawaiian Veterans, LLC since 2017.

In addition to their industry roles, they also served in the United States Army Reserve as a Captain and Environmental Science and Engineering Officer from 2006 to 2017.

With their extensive experience in the environmental field, Gretchen McDonnell brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their current role.

Gretchen McDonnell, PMP, MPM, has a Master's Degree in Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, which they obtained in 2015. Gretchen also holds a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from the same institution, completed in 2015.

Prior to their master's degree, Gretchen earned a Bachelor's Degree in Geology, with a specialization in Hydrogeology & Water Chemistry, from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1999.

In addition to their academic achievements, Gretchen McDonnell has obtained several certifications. Gretchen received the Virtual Event and Meeting Management certification from the Event Leadership Institute in February 2021. In January 2014, they obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute.
